Sivas (film)
''Sivas'' is a 2014 Turkish drama film directed by Kaan Müjdeci. It was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 71st Venice International Film Festival〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=International competition of feature films )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Venice Film Festival Lineup Announced )〕 where it won the Special Jury Prize. The film was selected as the Turkish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards.
==Plot==
The film features the story of an eleven year old boy, Aslan (Doğan İzci), and a noble weathered fighting dog, Sivas. A strong relationship is developed when Aslan finds Sivas who has been badly beaten after a fight.
Meanwhile, Aslan loses the leading role of the Prince in his school play of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves” to Osman(Furkan Uyar), his rival-in-love and son of the village head. While Osman gets ahead in the race to win the hand of The Princess of the village, Ayşe(Ezgi Ergin), Aslan tries to impress her with his new-found friend. And Sivas, having found a new lease on life, wins one fight after another, strengthening Aslan’s hand against Osman. As Sivas’ success on the battle ground attracts more attention from the village head, Aslan finds himself in an unexpected crash-course into adulthood, leaving the Princess behind.〔(【引用サイトリンク】website= sivasfilm.com )〕
